Have you ever had to leave your hometown and leave your friends? I have and I know that it is difficult to take everything in at once but once you meet people it isn’t hard at all. The main character in The Circuit by Francisco Jimenez is sad and nervous about moving but hopefully that changes!
I am like to the character are alike in many ways! One way that we are really alike is that we have both left are hometown and moved somewhere new. When I first heard that I was going to have to move I was really sad to find out that I had to leave all of my best friends. I think that the little boy in The Circuit felt the same way. He was sad, nervous and scared just like I was. Once you move, you find more friends and you fit in.
There are also a couple ways that I am different compared to the character. The most obvious difference is that I am a girl and he is a boy. I think that you can have a friend that is a boy or a girl. People think that if they are not the same gender as someone else that they can’t be there friend. One other difference is that we are different in age. Age doesn’t really matter if you are only a couple years apart.
I think that everyone should always try to make new friends. It is fun to find out more about people. When I moved here I went out for a soccer team. Everyone was nice but I really didn’t talk to anyone. Once I told them I was going to go to Pewaukee Jessie Bacon gave me a big hug. After that I knew I never wanted to leave. It was a fun experience moving and I think that the main character in the book will make friends too.
